Just for Fun: A Puzzle

Please give the puzzle a few moments to load. Move the puzzle pieces with your mouse.

Too hard? Too easy? Change the cut! It's in the menu column at left. There's a cut that's just right for everyone, from pre-schoolers through adults. You'll find the "change cut" link in the box at left, under the small image of the puzzle.

If you have a studentin Grade 5, consider changing the cut to the shape of the United States (Column 2, "USA 48). Each piece will be in the shape of one of our states. It's a great way to practice recognizing state shapes and learning just where in the United States these states are located. (Hawai'i and Alaska, as is usual on maps, can't be in the correct locations so they aren't included in the puzzle.) You might ask your student to figure out what states are missing from the puzzle and why.

Leave the window open somewhere on your computer screen until you are finished. If you have to re-open the window you'll have to start over. Don't forget to consider the "Change Cut" option! You'll be able to customize the puzzle to the age of the student.
